The 5th International Conference on the Conservation of Sturgeon species in 11/2011 which was held in Warsaw, Poland is the place where representatives of the aquaculture industry around the world together with Importers, manufacturers, suppliers, scientists, converged to contribute experiences and discuss issues of Sturgeon. The 5th International Conference on the Conservation of Sturgeon species is held annually under the close cooperation of the International Union for Sturgeon Conservation W.S.C.S. The main theme this year is focused on diseases occuring in Sturgeon. Professor Scott LaPatra - Director of Research and Farming Division at Clear Springs Food (Buhl, Idaho, USA) – has shared his experiences of the epidemic and how to reduce the harm caused by a virus in Sturgeon species.

Vietnam Sturgeon Corporation has opened its fifth sturgeon farm in the central highlands province of Dak Lak. Once completed, the net cage facility located in the Buon Tu Srah hydropower plant reservoir in Lak District will have an estimated capacity to rear one million sturgeons. The company claims it to be the largest of its kind world-wide.
In the first phase the facility will hold 40,000 fish. The company’s other facilities are located in the northern province of Bac Giang, the central provinces of Binh Thuan and Binh Dinh, and the central highlands province of Lam Dong. In the next two years the company plans to further increase its capacity in order to raise the total caviar output to 1,000 tonnes per annum. The company plans to become a leading global caviar exporter in the next three years."
