When Mr. Le Duc Anh decided to invest farming  sturgeons to harvest black caviar in Vietnam, many people have said that it is a  foolish ambition. Russian experts who went to Vietnam to do surveys even supposed that sturgeon could not grow in warm climates like Vietnam. However, just after 5 years of exploration, making endurance tests, his "insane ambition," has become a reality. Caviar De Duc, bearing the brand name of its creator, has officially become the first Vietnamese sturgeon roe brand, marking the presence of Vietnamese high end agricultural products in the  market.

In a latest survey  by EuropeanAquaculture Society, first half of the second quarter 2014, U.S providedthe market 25 tons of black caviar, China provided 40 tons, while the Caviar deDUC a new, independentbrand which does not depend on anysupport of the world can offer to the market about 15 tons. Furthermore,according to the chairman of the Association of EuropeanSeafood - Alan Jones,Caviar de Ducproducts have  very competitive prices,high quality, delicious caviar, beautiful color and nice looking package.

 Mr. Le Anh Duc shared, "There are many brands of black caviar business surveyed and ordered our caviar and would like to sell under their brand names but I do not want to distribute our products in that way."These big corporations buy caviar from manufacturers and sell to the market with 5 time higher price. Besides, «Vietnam caviar is high quality, therefore, it is necessary to have a brand and a private position," he asserted.

 Mr. LeAnh Duc is confident that although the development pathway of his brand will meet many difficulties,
in the era of developed media, it will be more likely to succeed if he goes the way that no one used to, and has the breakthrough that nobodydares to dream. So far, Caviar de Duc gained initialsuccess and continued to prove the world the undoubted quality of Vietnam agricultural products.

Following the annual charity activities such as funding medical treatment for babies with heart disease and the disadvantaged (the program called Empathetic hearts), Vietnam Sturgeon Group always consider contributing to share with unlucky fates and disadvantaged in life. Recently, the Group has taken the semi – cooked  high – quality products such as Grill sturgeon with pepper, sturgeon roll in piper lolot, Tempura sturgeon, ... on charity meal for the poor patients at the K Central Hospital, in  co-operation with Linh Son Pagoda’s charity group (Tran Khat Chan, Hanoi).

More than 1000kg of semi – cooked sturgeon products has been gifted to the charity group of Linh Son Pagoda to serve the most practical meals to poor patients. Vietnam Sturgeon Group's semi – cooked products is mainly distributed in the chain of restaurants, supermarkets. All are processed according to standard food chain of Hapro with recipes exclusively provided by the Saigon Chef Association. According to Mrs. Huong, chairman of the charity group at Linh Son Pagoda, the Vietnam Sturgeon Group's activities have contributed to improve the quality of meals to patients in difficult circumstances, it’s the noble gesture of a typical enterprise that we enormously encourage.

The women of the charity group have to gather at Linh Son Pagoda in the early morning for cooking, preparing meals, so that every day delicious hot meals are always ready for poor patients. Most people live in the urban of Hanoi, however some living 20km far from the pagoda have to travel all the long way to help.

With the help of Vietnam Sturgeon Group, she said: "Cooking these dishes help me save more time. Bring them the high – quality and adequate nutritious food  also show make me feel assured and proud”.

At about 7 am, fish porridge for breakfast was brought to the hospital and gift to the patient. Nearly 9 am, the hot lunch has also been prepared. Each serving has sturgeon roll wrapped in lolot leaves, su su fried vegetables and soup. Each meal, which is brought to the hands of patients, simple though, is the contribution of so many philanthropists and sympathetic ones. Vietnam Sturgeon Group joins charity group for the hope that small gift but the most practical help will ease the difficulties and pains of patients who daily cope with illness.

_The 5th International Conference on the Conservation of Sturgeon species in 11/2011 which was held in Warsaw, Poland is the place where representatives of the aquaculture industry around the world together with Importers, manufacturers, suppliers, scientists, converged to contribute experiences and discuss issues of Sturgeon. At the conference, Vietnam Sturgeon Group was mentioned as a typical representative of Vietnam in particular and Asia in general for Sturgeon raising.

_ In particular, the expansion to the 5th aquaculture facility in Dak Lak province of the Group is considered the basis of Sturgeon's largest aquaculture in the sector as well as worldwide. Once completed, farming systems located in Buon Tua Srah hydroelectric lake will be capable of 1 million adult fishes.     The 5th International Conference on the Conservation of Sturgeon species is held annually under the close cooperation of the International Union for Sturgeon Conservation W.S.C.S. The main theme this year is focused on diseases occuring in Sturgeon. Vietnam Sturgeon Corporation has opened its fifth sturgeon farm in the central highlands province of Dak Lak. Once completed, the net cage facility located in the Buon Tu Srah hydropower plant reservoir in Lak District will have an estimated capacity to rear one million sturgeons. The company claims it to be the largest of its kind world-wide.

In the first phase the facility will hold 40,000 fish. The company’s other facilities are located in the northern province of Bac Giang, the central provinces of Binh Thuan and Binh Dinh, and the central highlands province of Lam Dong. In the next two years the company plans to further increase its capacity in order to raise the total caviar output to 1,000 tonnes per annum. The company plans to become a leading global caviar exporter in the next three years."

_    On the morning of 12.11.2012, at Buon Tua Srah hydroelectric Lake (Dak Lak), the Opening Ceremony of the 5th Sturgeon farms in the industrial scale system was held by Vietnam Sturgeon Group. The ceremony had the presence of representatives of many ministries, sectors of and provinces in the region.

    Mr. Nguyen Ba Phuong, General Deputy Director of Vietnam Sturgeon Group, said that the initial capital investment for facilities at Buon Tua Srah lake is about 500 billion VNĐ, with 20,000 fish in 50 cages. It is expected that, after 12-18 months, half of these fishes will become commercial products, weighing between 2-3 kg per one. The remaining will be fed in the next 5 years to produce canned black caviar for exporting (each fish can be harvested 1 kg roes, valued from U.S. $ 1000 to $1200).
   

The Vietnam Sturgeon Group has developed raising facilities in Binh Thuan and Lam Dong, Binh Dinh and Bac Giang. In two years, the enterprise plans to invest from 5 to 10 new breeding center in Dak Lak, so that the caviar productivity can reach 1,000 tons/year.According to the survey and evaluation of the Russian experts who are working for the Group, the lake area of three hydropower plants Buon Tua Srah, Serepok 3 and Buon Kuop in Dak Lak Kuop have suitable soil conditions, climate and ecological environment for the development of Russian sturgeon farming, especially the Beluga Huso huso and Acipenseridae line, to exploit such Sturgeon products with high commercial value as meat and Sturgeon roe (Caviar).
